    Default Charging question

So I got a new battery charger that has a 2 bank option. I have been unhooking the two batteries and charging them separate. If I have a dual bank charger, can I leave them hooked up in parallel and now charge them (bank 1 + to + and - to -) and the same with bank 2?

You should be able to, I have a "Minn Kota" dual bank charger and leave them connected in series. (in parallel they should be separated)

Bank 1 goes to one battery and bank 2 to the other battery

for 24V they are connected in series not parallel, are you running a 12V or 24V system? If hooked parallel for 12V the charging will be shared across both batteries and should be separated when charged (basically the same as having dual batteries with a perko switch for #1 #2 and both)

I do disconnect the trolling motor though.

Having both batteries connected to charger should be fine
    bank1 +/- to battery 1 and bank2 +/- to battery 2.

The batteries are also connected in series for 24v motor
    Battery1 + to motor +
    Battery1 - to battery2 +
    Battery2 - to motor -

Its generally suggested you disconnect the motor when charging, I have a plug on my motor, this keeps the motor from draining batteries while not in use as well.

    if you go to site:
    https://www.trollingmotors.net/
They have a lot of info and wiring diagrams etc...
