    Default Sand spike

Has anyone seen these? I saw a fellow surf fishing at Ft. Macon last week and asked him about them. He said it's a sand spike made here in NC. It is pretty cool actually. He showed me how easy it is to 'screw' into the ground unlike the standard ones that can be a bear to push into hard sand and shell. It has a removable pin to adjust for long or short butt rods. It looks like its built like a tank and this fellow said supposedly you can drive a 3/4 ton pickup over it and the only thing it will hurt is your tires
I thought I might get a couple for fall surf fishing so had to do a search on line and found a website with more information. Apparently its not a e-commerce business so you can't order them on line but i need to find a retailer. If anyone knows where i can buy one let me know. Its a whole lot easier to plant with my replacement shoulder than my old ones!

I see Neuse Sport Shop carries them. Might try one, thinking the concept would be easier on my shoulder since all i do now is surf fish.

    Hey Skiffless,
A lot of guys fish the beach/surf when the weather is not great or boat in for repair. However, some beaches, piers or jettys are tougher to get to than others, have you ever tried one of these--

I've got two of a different make and length. They work great. Also very good to secure your beach umbrella.
