Around the end of June you can catch dolphin five miles off the beach. It should be doable in my new DLV. 014

I guess people naturally wish for the stuff they can't get easily. You mentioned the dolphin, I would love to catch some. Tuna too. We simply don't get them here in the arm pit of FL. Kings, Cobia, Trout, Reds, yep. Dolphin, nope.

5 miles out. Man that sounds good.

So like what do you use for dolphin? How far do you have to go out for dolphin?

I will use the same thing for dolphin as I would for king, sea witches, spoons, I will rig the witches with a cigar minnow or a ballyhoo. You can get them trolling or casting I mainly just troll, its kinda hard to hold a beer when you cast lol. but the key is once you have one hooked up you need to get another line out to catch the second, they normally hang out in groups even up to the boat.

    Big Will,

Grits and cream of wheat are not in the same food group.

Yes I plan on coming into the area on Hwy 70. As soon as I can make plans to see floks in Atlantic I'm coming down.
wanted to check out the real estate in the Kinston area also.

Charlie, you talking about Atlantic/Sea Level area or Atlantic Beach/Morehead area?
The area around Atlantic/Sea Level has got the best home/property prices on the Carolina coast right now. Not much to do but fish but some of the best fishing on the east coast. I use this place when I'm just "fishing" around for property. They seem to have the most signs around that area. NO relations, just a handy place to look around.

    Shaggy,

The only reason I said that about the grits was because of a guy I knew here in FL who used to say it. He was a tall thin man with a long braid down the middle of his back and corrected anyone that called him a biker by calling himself a motorcycle enthusiast. We called him Crow. Every time we had grits at a tailgate fishfry he'd passby the grits and say, "Up North we call that cream of wheat!"

    He never would eat 'em.

I guess it's to be expected. He's the same man who used to say "Well if you ain't got any cocain - coffee and ho ho's will have to do."
