I've had both the standard and stainless steel buckles. The standards fell apart after 2 years and got replaced by the stainless model. Don't bother with the standard model if your trailer sees salt or brackish water.
Be sure that you can mount them on your trailer without tilting them more than about 30 degrees or they will open when you hit a bump.

They make A Stainless steel set for that !

Had a set of stainless on 24 foot boat i had. They were great.

I've used them for years. I added the stainless steel version on the bow and stern. Zero issues fresh or salt!! The my old man even made me some stainless brackets for them too. :cool:

I have a set, and Raymond Martin is making me a set of brackets for the bunks similar to 218Elite08's. I have the SS version, and love them.

My wife picked these up. Cheap, easy on/off, hold secure and have a flap/pad to keep the buckle off the hull. Can't see the need for more.

One of the first things I did to my trailer after I noticed the rear straps that came with the boat were rubbing the gelcoat... got the ss ones... no more gelcoat rubbing, they feel solid and provide for a very secure ride... love em'!

That's the ones we are replacing with this auto set ....
They are just QUICK & EASY if you trailer a lot *yay*

My bunks protrude 6"-8" , I used the optional mounting kit ,it was $10 per side ....
