I've got a 2180DLX Carolina Skiff on a 21W Road King Trailer......

While unloading the boat yesterday I noticed one of the bunks floating to the top of the water after the boat was offloaded ???

After checking things out I noticed that all but 1 of the "brackets" (on both bunks) that support the bunks and attach the bunks to the frame of the trailer had cracked........

The trailer is almost a year old and has a 5 year warranty. After calling Road King I was VERY impressed as to how they handled it. Told me no problem they would send out some more brackets and a self-addressed enveloped to send the cracked ones back so they could be sent back to the vendor to be "metal tested"....they are also going to notify me of the results of the tests.

The guy at the factory said this is very rare and if it happens it's usually because the boat isn't secured to the trailer at the transom and "bounces" going down the road causing undue stress thus breaking the brackets.

If you have this type of trailer just be sure to check your brackets.

North Carolina plant: 828-670-8012.......this is the first and last number I called.

Great info Tony. I've got a Road King as well. I've actually been more impressed with it than I originally thought I'd be. It's a single axle rig and though a lot of folks here like the duel axle trailers, (I've owned 'em) I specifically wanted a single. Road King's 5-year warranty impressed me and I already knew of their great (after the sale) customer service. I know of one man that had one of the plastic fenders crack on him. He said he just stepped on it and it cracked. I seen the fender and it was pretty clear to me that it was more likely he hit something (maybe a sign while making a too-tight turn). Anyway, Road King sent him a new fender, no questions asked. They also have a very good website with all the parts available, if you ever do need something, and you it's going to fit. Thanks for the (real-world) testimony.
