I'm a newbie to CSO, so let me know if there's something I need to do before jumping in to the forums. I've got a 98 CS 16 Center Console with a Nissan 40....Love it!!!
I just went out last weekend to Laguna Madre/North Padre Island, and got a couple bites but no fish. The weather situation was a day after a blustery, cloudy cold front. I started Saturday morning with sunny skies but the cold front was still coming thru. NE winds 20-25 and air water temp dropping. Water temp started at 68 on Saturday and was down to 52 sunday noon when I threw in the towel.
I was fishing natural gulp shrimp in 3ft channels between spoil islands and the intracoastal canal.
I'm wondering if red's feed on a dropping temp and if anyone has had any luck with this kind of situation.
Thanks for taking a look.
Hey Austin, welcome aboard *Cheers*
I personally can't tell you much about the fishing down Texas way, but I'll try and help you out by moving this post from the "Tackle Shop" to here, the "Gulf Coast & Texas" board ;D
To answer your first question... actually, there are a few things our new members can do to better help us (other members) answer some of the questions relating to area or regional interests and issues. Take a look up near the top left of any page and you will find a link titled "UserCP". Click on that link and fill out some of the information asked for in "Your Profile"... your location (for instance). Another piece of information (and standard here on CSO.com) that we all find very helpful, is when members show the model of skiff and outboard they have. We put that information in our "signature" line. When you do that, all of us will know, all the time, a little bit of information about you and your skiff, and you won't have to repeat it in the text of your posts. While you're in the UserCP, if you look around some, you'll find quite a few ways to customize what automatically shows up on each of your posts *thumbsup*
Keep on postin' brother... we're all here to help and to learn from each other *Woot*

Austin Fisher, first let me say welcome to CSO....lots of great info on here for ya and there is even a section named Fishing reports and general fishing information..right above the Tackle shop heading.... .if you click on that forum heading it breaks down into 4 sub headings and I think the one titled Gulf Coast and Texas is right up your alley......I think you may get more response there so I am going to move your post to it....again welcome and feel free to jump in on any discussions in the forums you may find interesting and sit back and catch up on all your reading......*thumbsup**thumbsup*
Hey Willie, we must have been thinking the same thing at about the very same time *thumbsup*... just one minute apart in our posts ;D
