After about a month of rain, wind, cold or most often all three at the same time, we finally got a decent day. Started off in the high 30's, but quickly warmed up to low 60's.....winds died down to less than 5 mph for the first time in what seems like months. I called Capt Jim to take a last shot at grouper before the season closes for Feb. and March.
We headed out into calm seas, as you can tell from the background of the pics, it was flat calm and beautiful. We ran 25+ mph all the way out. Hit our favorite wreck about 5 miles out and found a few Red Snapper and a short grouper or two. Not much photo-worthy, but took a few pics of Capt Jims Red Snappers just to prove we made it out, lol....

Fishing after a full moon turned out to not be the best time, but it was a beautiful day and we had a good time. Capt Jim also caught a flounder off the wreck and got several nice big mullet while we were looking for bait on the way out, so he had something to cook for dinner, lol. To bad Red Snapper season is closed, those would have gone great on the grill!, but had to be released so the porpoise could eat them. We put them in the livewell and drove off to release, but the darn dolphin just followed us, and got mad and aggressive when we did release them. They definitely know how to get a free meal!
