Fillet1,

MORE, MORE, MORE, PLEASE. 008

The wife and me have talked about retiring in Belize. Heard the water is clear as glass (full of fish), country side is gorgeous, and the people friendly, also the govermment is stable and banks are american frendly. Don't know if all that true or not but what can you tell us. Would love to hear from someone who has been there. Thanks. 012

Man is that pretty, and this coming from someone who gets to the Key's a few times a year. Any other pics of fun, sun, and surf?

Thanks,
Mike K.

o2bfishin,

I wish I could tell you a ton, but I saw very little of Belize. I was on a cruise so we had limited opportunities. We were there for a day and went to a caye (Bannister Caye) off of Belize City. It was a beach day and it was nice. The back side of the island was all mangroves and the ocean side was flat and blue.

Belize was formerly known as British Honduras. You can order a Guiness on the beach! From what I understand Belize City is a bit sketchy to venture around on your own, but so is Camden NJ which is right next door to me now. :) I'd like to go back and fish for a few days. There are some neat fishing lodge deals there.

Mike - I'll put some more up tonight. I picked up a Nikon d40 that takes some sweet shots. I used to be a amateur photo nut years ago and this new camera has renewed my interest a bit.

Fillet1... I think you missed your calling. National Geographic could always use another photographer. Great shots!!!! 013

Now... where's the phonebook? I need the number of a good travel agent. ;D

The yammies were pushing a 40 foot v hull with a homemade fiberglass cabin over the whole thing. It was done to carry as many passengers as possible.
