What did you use for a bungee and where did you get it? Did you fasten the 2 pieces of plastic with screws, adhesive, or both? How did you attach them to the hull?

The front part is from teak isle.I made the board on the back and flush mounted screws from the back. The mount is a standard rail clamp for a rod holder.I used a piece of 1 and 1/4inch pvc for a spacer. The bungee is just stapled together inside the hole at top.

Changed these today to a better clamp. These are tite-lok clamps. They seem to be more solid.

Couldn't move them where I wanted them.I can slide these more up front.Plus, these are through bolted.More solid.I guess they probally did look better the other way after looking at these pictures.I still have them.Maybe I will get the boat they way I want it before spring.-----------nahhh, I will just want more.

Brokebeach,

You come up with some of the best ideas and execute them in a professional way. You always have welcome and good information and advice. Your photos are also quite clear and illustrative.

Keep it coming.

I'm picking up my boat Friday from the dealer, going to get a map and trailer it to Snow Hill. Brokebeach, I'm thinking you might be running out of mods to do for your boat and I don't want you to get bored waiting for Spring to arrive so I'll let you experiment on my boat. ;D

Seriously, you do great work and I love to see the results. Keep on tricking. thumbsup

While at the AC boat show last weekend I saw one of there JXV or JV models with a similar rod holder set up on the gunnels.

Except they had them Glued to the inside of the boat and lower than the picture above, with no clamps or bolts going through the outside of the hull.

Well, Some type of bond. I assumed 5200 006 but after reading my question about starboard and 5200 in the trick your skiff area, maybe not.

All I know is it looked like Brokebeaches rod holders, but instead of having clamps like his, they were mounted without any type off bolts or screws. thumbsup

Either way, glue, 5200 or whatever holds it. I've been trying to come up with something myself and could only think of drilling holes through the side of the boat and for sure, didn't want to do that.

Don't get me wrong Brokebeaches rod holders are the bomb, but why would you need to move them forward or back ? 006 Set'em and forget'em.

NEM,
Us NE guys could move them close together when we go ice fishing and carry those 16" ice fishing rods ... 005
