Hey gang,
I keep my boat on a lift. I have a T top and I have a console cover, but would really like a cover for my leaning post/ baitwell area. I've seen some pictures with covers in this area. Looking for imput. Thanks

Hi

I had a similar issue, wanted both the center console and leaning post covered.
I could not find a cover for the leaning post.
I bought the same cover for both, a large center console cover.
I do not have the Carolina Skiff supplied leaning post, I have one made by Taco, and bought from West Marine. http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/producte/10001/-1/10001/160065/377%20710/0/Leaning%20Post/Primary%20Search/mode%20matchallpartial/0/0?N=377%20710&Ne=0&Ntt=Leaning%20Post&Ntk=Primary%20Search&Ntx=mode%20matchallpartial&Nao=0&Ns=0&keyword=Leaning%20Post&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=18&subdeptNum=37&classNum=10952
The covers are made by Taylor .. Large Center Console, 45"H x 46"W x 40"D West Marine # # 7961139 Manufacturer #40420.

Thanks for the reply,
With my baitwell being part of the seat configuration I don't think a console cover will fit but I will explore it.

Probably right, ....you may need to a have a custom cover made.

Have you emailed Carolina Skiff?

You'd think they would have a solution.

Check out Overtons...They have a t-top cover that covers everything including your leaning post or cooler seat. I think it runs about $175.

I have the T Top cover that Rod talked about . There are a couple pictures of it in my album . The cover is big and sometimes can be difficult to get on in the wind. I keep my boat in the water and I had the cover on about 75 percent of the time. I wound up putting some extra tie downs on the console and on my cooler seat to hold it down in the wind. On the other hand it is great for winter storage as it does cover everything that is under the T Top . Good luck. Have a good New Year .

If you or your wife can sew, make a cover! My wife puts together a lot of of articles for me, on just a regular Pfaff sewing machine.

Once I know what I want her to sew up, I make her a brown wrapping paper pattern of it, and tape the seperate panels together, to test for fit. Then she cuts the panels apart, and "tweaks" the measurements, to allow extra material for seams, grommets, etcetera.

There are several places where you can get material, large spools of thread, webbing, grommets, etcetera. The place she orders from mostly is Sailrite.................................

http://www.sailrite.com/

Two other companies to buy hard to find materials from are outfits that sew up web gear for the military..............

London Bridge Traders in Virginia Beach, VA................................................ .........

http://www.londonbridgetrading.com/

and Eagle Industries........................................ .

If you or your wife cannot sew, London Bridge Traders will custom design and make anything you want.........packs, dry bags for generators, anything you can think up, they'll make it.

Happy New Year! Jim
