Hi everybody! I love boats and fished both commercially (Don't throw the sinkers) and for sport. I grew up on Long Island in a 1964 30' Luhrs and a 1978 17' Mako. Owned a few boats. That '78 mako, 24' Minnio (clamboat) 12' sears rowboat, 14' G3 jonboat, 11' kayak (2), 17' canoe. Worked on 72' Desco shrimpboat 47' Lobsterboat, 32' bay shrimpboat (N.C. built), 24' clamboat and a 35' sinknetter.
I have built one Kayak and I started two other boats, 12' rowboat and 14' sailboat.
I fish now in lakes and ponds for Crappie, Bass and Strippers because I live in Dallas, Pa. I'm planning on retiring to N.C. with a CS 27' and build a cabin on it to cruise the ICW. Oh! I saving for a used 14 or 16' CS for bass fishing!!!!

I think you are right!!! What boat do you have now? I using a G3 14' jonboat w/ 20hp merc

I have a 17' CS with a 50 suzuki 4 stroke on it. Run Harvey's Lake for a while in the spring and fall but in June take it to NJ to the campground and run the bays down there.

What campground? I have a plan to fish in NJ because the run to Long Island is to HARD!!

Willie stays at the sleepy hollow campground in EHT (Egg Habor Twp) NJ. It's in Atlantic County down near me. About 15 minutes west of AC.

Its about a 3 hour ride from here. Down the turnpike, around Phila. and then down the AC expressway, then south on the parkway for 15 minutes. The campground I am in is a seasonal campground, but there are others in the area that can be reserved for a few days or weeks. As Harry said, the fishing is great. 010

I fished the waters off of Bay Park (South shore) and Great South Bay off Babylon to Oakdale. Where for you?

too tall, out of southold, in LI sound and Montauk/block island area.Go the canyons also a few times a year.

nothing else matters, Oh! Boy Southold now there are some great waters. Spring blackbacks with the yellow color edge along the the underside of those flounders. I always bring some pre died yellow and red clam strips for those early spring flounders.
I got to look in the old box under the bed for my old lobsters pot charts of the sound. had some great spots where I pickup some nice stripers and weakfish in fish traps or pots I made like the Crab pots that are fished down the sounds of north carolina. I know not a sporty way to fish but I was young then!!
