but looking better all the time..Marine tex is amazing...
i would like to get in and fill the void better but that will be a later project..
i packed it full as i could with Marine tex, next time i will probably go with some epoxy and try to fill it all the way up up.....i would have done that this time but i was already with the marine tex and didn't realize how big of a void it was..
i will post some after pics tomorrow...
oh yeah the v-stop will no longer be on the trailer*001*

sometimes i drive up other times i crank it,the big problem was the void behind the thin fiberglass...
if you tap on the hull there(where the crack was) it sounds hollow, the other side is solid...
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

Is that section above the floor?
What about glass a few bixial layers of glass behind to make it stronger. I would go from top to bottom the whole front there, i had noticed that on mine and was planning on doing that, in case i hit something floating in the water.

Dang GW
I realy like how my V stop works but dont need that to happen....Maybe some sort of padding under the carpet might help....But realy think CS should be ashamed of themselves should never been like that....BoogieBlues

it happens, especially on something mass produced,i have heard more expensive boats having the same issue,,,
i have pretty much fixed it for now and will try to get pics of the repair..
NEM,your right i would not want to hit anything in the water on that spot..

Next time I'm showing up with a rubber mallet at the dealers lot before I take delivery *thumbsup*
Their seems to be more of and issue with the DLV's
They have more crevasses making it harder to be properly rolled out in the cold molding process , leadding to the air pockets and thin spots *001*
JVX's ? could fall into the same category
DON'T NONE OF YOU TELL REGGIE :secret:
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

CF, thin spots is because they did not put enough glass, not because of any crevasses and pointy areas. A 24* V bottom is more pointy, but still they can put enough glass to make it strong. By rubing a piece of carpet on the hull is not a reason to have a hull with a hole in it. They have to make these boats a little more stronger, not necesery heavy; they could use kevlar in key locations if they want to keep the weight off.

it is noticeable but after i fish 1 day it will have the nice brown tinge to it*RazzPirate*
hopefully i did good enough to stop the problem,if not we will inject some resin in the void next time..*thumbsup*

GW - Curious. Did you contact CS about this, and thier response? Too many good things with CS to foul up with poor workmanship or QC. I did sell mine but have since been looking for another. Its things like this that cause one to look at other brands.

In my opinion the title of the thread is kind of a bit "deceiving" and not fair to the V Stop manufacture and users...Personally I do not use the V Stop, so I am in no way endorsing it.....If we all notice the trend of the thread, it seems like to me that the root cause of this problem was not the V Stop in it self..Seems more like poor hull workmannship in behalf of CS...*006*...Just my .02 centavos....*kickrock*

Question....did you ever contact CS about this issue??? I know they have warranties on their boats...
Instead of bashing their workmanship you may want to give them a heads up to see what their response would be or better yet what did your dealer recommend?

Sorry gut wrench, I was more referring to the other few comments about CS' workmanship instead of your post, haven't learned how to quote someone yet. Thanks for giving a heads up on what to watch out for when I'm choosing my next boat. Just an FYI, I do know that CS warranties are transferable from owner to owner and are a 5 year hull warranty;) Wasn't trying to stir the pot, when things like this happen it's always good to contact the manufacturer to see what they would recommend and to let them know about the problem so it will not happen on other boats; just trying to give some helpful advice.

I wish! I'm sure they get pretty good discounts and that would really help when I purchase that 25 Elite that my husband and I have been drooling over!
