Florida in April

I usually make run somewhere in Florida in April from the Carolinas - this year I got to be in Boca Raton for my Bro - in - law's wedding April 9th - as soon as the festivities are over my bride and me plan on going across that state to Sanibel - Captiva area - not going to drag the skiff down but I plan on hiring a guide to fish for some snook reds trout or permit maybe - any good guides on this board or anyone with a recomendation for a guide around the Sanibel area - info appreciated

i dont know of any guides in that part of the state, but if you want a good one in the misquito lagoon/ canaveral area i'll give you his name & number. i know it's not your target area, but the misquito lagoon has the state's best trout and redfish areas. if you want to stay in the sannibel area, do a google search for local guides, then try and find some forums where they have reviews for the guides. check the floridasportsman.com online guides area. it is a great magazine and online site that has TONS AND TONS of info/ guides.

My wifes aunt & uncle live in Ft Myers (near Sanibal) and every time we go down her uncle and I use this guy www.backbayxtremes.com

He is north and it takes us about 30 minutes to get there, but he's a GREAT guy and gets you on fish. He loves to fish and is dis-appointed if he can't find them for you. We had a rain day and rescheduled for the day our flight left. He keep us out so long we almost missed our plane, the wife us pissed but I didn't mind.... ;D

Dave real good guy and fishes out of Punta Gorda (near fisherman's village) and the surrounding Charolette Harbor area.

Before I leave for Florida I will be putting me a notebook together and will be getting names and numbers and I will try to take you on your offers - I wish I could drag my boat down but got too many other things I gotta take care of - plus dragging a boat with gas the price it is makes for an expensive trip - thanks for all you guys giving me info and offers
