All I got was a bag of coal... actually a bag of hardwood lump charcoal for my new offset smoker. Woo Hoo!!!! 010 Now all I gotta do is catch some trout to throw on that sucker.

As Larry the Cable Guy would say; Happy non-denominational holidays to all! ;D 012

The smoker is a New Braunfels Hondo (I think). It's 10 gauge and pretty heavy. Good for backyard BBQ's.

Actually, it's a hand me down... my neighbor's, brother's friend used it a couple of times, then gave it to the neighbor's brother and he used it a couple of times, then he gave it to my neighbor that immediately turned it over to me. [whew! That was tough to say] . It was in really good shape... just needed a good cleaning out and I threw a new coat of high temp paint on it. I've got some cast iron grates ordered. For those of you familiar with smokers, the offset style smokers need a couple of modifications; thermometer(s) mounted close to the cooking grate, a heat deflector and a smoke stack extension in the cooking chamber. I did all that and smoked a couple of roasting chickens Saturday night. Man 'o man... that there was some good eats. Christmas day it's going to be a couple of boneless turkey breasts and a picnic shoulder. Ya'll drop on by, there'll be plenty to eat. Merry Christmas everybody!

Thats a sweet pit. I made the same mods to mine. I also raised the grate up
a little. I added a propane assist too. Helps pringing the temp up faster.

I am now cooking on this little KLOSE 20x36 ;D
