Hey just emptied my traps and car yesterday got about 2 dozen fat males in 3 days....last year there were no crabs here took 3 weeks to get 8 and gave up....this year looking good...they were fat full and mmmmmm good...Thinking of buying 4 new traps and droping them off in the morning at the mouth of the river and checking them on the way home...I have always heard the big fat ones hang out up river on creek channels and stuff...be fun to find out....BoogieBlues

Here is a crab that beats any old blue crab when it comes to taste and size...Tropical Land Crabs, they live in holes near the water in the tropics, you catch these live and you cage them up a few weeks feeding them fresh coconuts and chopped corn to clean them out and fat them up....Just the big claw on the Jimmy has more meat than an entire blue crab...;D...You boiled just like the blue crabs...What a taste...There is some very delicious dishes made out of their meat from salads to soups, or just break into them like a blue crab...*Cheers*
Known in Puerto Rico as "Jueyes"...Avarage street retail $30-$40 a dozen.
Of course you can always go and catch your own.

Hey Whatever
When I was young and Dumber than now a bunch of us broke azz Hippies went to Jamaica early 70's....There was a place near the campground called Moon Rocks a cool cliff with blowholes around the top that water shot thru on high tide during the full moon...Well we went to see it and there were hunders of crabs all over...me being the dumb azz ended up with one hook to my thumb and he would not let go...So I thought to myself(keep in mind there is lots of Gangi around..lol) Ill kill you crab and eat you...went back to camp boiled some water drank a fair portion of 80 cent a bottle rum and dunked him in he let lose cooked his but and ate him...was pretty good and huge claw....Being broke like we were we went back the next night loaded up a basket full of them cooked them with spices and viniger and had a crab feast....Red Stipe...cheap rum and all the crabs you can eat....Man I loved Jamaica...lol...BoogieBlues
