I have changed plans so many times I'm not sure I will ever get my boat done. My latest idea requires installing two of the standard CS 10-gal livewells in the large rear deck for a j series. From what I can tell, the livewells actually need to be attached from the bottom, and the door cut-out in the deck is actually smaller than the livewell perimeter. My local CS dealer where I bought the parts said the livewells should be fiberglassed in. I was thinking of mounting it with screws in the flange with an ample amount of 3M 5200. This should seal and connect it fine. Did he suggest glassing it in for extra support? I know nothing about fiberglass wraps, resins, epoxies, etc... Should I mount it the way I'm talking about and then add a reinforcement coat of fiberglass? What are the steps and materials for doing that? Any help will be appreciated.
