First off I trailer my boat and use it in saltwater only.
My old boat I used to use the ear muffs when I got home to flush out the salt and it didn't have the extra port to screw the hose into and flush like the new Suzuki does.

My question is with this new motor, do I need to flush with both the ear muffs and the threaded port, or can I just use the thread port flush and not worry about the muffs?

What do you do?

Harry, I just use the muffs, but my suzuki is a 2002 i beleive and does not have the port your talking about. When in doubt, look to the owners manual.
oh and is the weather as miserable as it looks on the web cams down there?

Thanks Willie,
Yes the weather stinks today

12,000 volts of electricity and rain doesn't mix well, so we don't work in the rain unless it's in an emergency.
So I'm spending some time on here at work...... ;D

I think the muffs only should be used. I believe that the flushing port does not flush the entire cooling system and saltwater can be left in the block.
