Vacation time next week at Sunset Beach, NC. Does anyone have any info. about how surf fishing is in that area now? Won't be able to take the skiff next week, so it's to the sand we go!*fingerscrossed*

If you can get over to tubs inlet between sunset and ocean isle, I heard there was a pretty good flounder bite. I was there about a month ago and all I got was trash fish. Hope you have better luck than me

If you have a cast net, try catching some small mullet. Blues and flounder are in the surf. Use leader material and try hooking the bait through the lip at first. If you find you pull a lot of fish head back in after a strike, try hooking bait near dorsal fin.
Tight lines!

Dig some sand fleas and put them on a bottom rig 3 oz. weight ---fish the breakers and you should catch some fine Virginia Mullet, black drum, flounder, or reds.
