Trophy Gator down.......

My son drew a gator permit this year. He and my nephew left out Friday morning and drove down to Southeast Ga. They went out and scouted Friday eve..hunted a little that night..Saturday they did a lot more scouting and found what they thought would be a good producing area.....they went back out that night and waited for the tide to go out. They found a gator that looked to be around 6 or 7 feet and was a legal shooter. Chris put a Muzzy gator getter right behind it's head and it was off to the races. An hour later he got arrow number two into him. An hour later they had him subdued and laying in the boat. They were in shock. It took all they had strength wise to roll it into the boat. Never in their wildest dreams did they expect to get one like this..........300+lbs 10 feet 7.5 inches long Bull gator. I'm very proud of these two!!

That's a fine gator your son took Cathooker... very impressive! Tell us something about how you process such a critter and what do you do with the hide? A gator recipe would be cool in the Cook Book forum... I might get one, one of these days ;D

I see southeast ga, where were they? There were some big ones on the satilla last year, and a friend of mine got a big one on the ogeechee. Nice Gator! Glad they had a good time!
