Nice rig - wish I'd seen it before I bought mine recently. I have a 2004 J16 with a 2003 Yamaha 25 4 stroke. Use it mostly for fishing in Lake Livingston. I put a Doel-Fin on it to enable planing at lower rpm and speed. It works pretty good. In addition, I have the Yamaha mounted on a CMC 35 tilt trim unit, so the motor is about 5" further back and about 5" higher than it would be if mounted directly on the transom.

I'm thinking of switching to the Smart Tabs - thought I might get better top end. Right now I hit about 22 MPH at just over 5000 rpm. Which Smart Tabs did you put on your rig?

Regards and good luck selling her - I don't think you'll have any problem. Buying another boat or just getting out of boating?
