yea i have some on my back deck. they are BRIGHT! of course mine a 110volt, not sure if they make a 12volt model. my parents had them on the boat dock for years, and they held up well to the elements. even survived a hurricane or two. i paid like 15 bucks for a 20' one, and have since bought two more, just haven't put them up yet. the connections are snap type with o-rings so they will stay water tight.

Think I am going to order 1 and see how it works out. My first thought was to run a line down each side of the boat, each on its own switch, gotta see how bright they are, don't want too much light in it, second thought was to wrap one around three sides of the center console about 12 inches off the floor. 010
