Hey guys and perhaps gals 003
Just found out about the site through a friend and can't wait to get into the forums and see what some of you have done to your skiffs. I just purchased a '97 CS 1765 with a '97 60hp Mercury (smoking pig as I call it!) OB. THe CS was sitting around for a while ran real rough on the test ride, but decided to purchase it as the motor had good compression and the gas tank was probably the problem (also a 97 model...lol...and metal 001).
I've already put a racor filter on the transom and replaced the tanks, and cleaned the carbs - she's running great and already catching fish! She needs lots of TLC (front rub rail, several gelcoat nicks and some gouges, and center console work).
I plan on building a new center console to add a few things, which I need insight on. 1 - cooler sit (like a coffin box) in front of the console. 2 - bigger console top for biniacle (sp) controls. I want to do this toI have already installed 4 rod holders for trolling and bottom drifting.
