Started off at 0530, had ballyhoo, decided to look for live bait, found them, made one cast and took off. Hit the first grass lines about 6 miles out Carolina Beach Inlet N.C. worked our way toward the 23 mile rock. ---beat us up---seas 3-4, laid down some after 1200 2-3. Picked the first dolphin up at about 14 miles. Had 3 hookups’. Tangled 3 line from H#!! to breakfast. Managed to save on small cow. 2nd struck. Never saw it -- hit top water bait an peeled off about 200 yds of line off the 4 0--line snapped. Had to be a big shark. Next dolphin weighted in at 12 lbs. not great but eatable. Hooked up again--started to fire my partner missed the gaff--big bull 15 or better--threw the bait and off he went. I'll be damned he missed the second gaff. Lost another one. Put the third one in the boat some where south of WR4. By this time we were ready to come in. Still beats the stuffing out of working.

I believe we had more hits with the live bait over the ballyhoo, but live bait is slow, and you can cover a lot more ground with the hoo. But as nasty as is was Friday morning slow trolling ---well maybe it wasn't so bad after all.

My wife is in Millville NJ for a suprise party for her mothers 80th birthday. I think when a couple of the boys show up here for fathersday I'll suprise them and we'll fare on Mahi Mahi with a Carib. flavor.

Way to go Antonio...*Woot* Those some nice looking fish...I was down in Ocean Isle about that same time, so rough we did not make it out past two miles, the weather caster missed it by a long shot...*004* and talk about some dirty water....Either way which one are you going to post..;D
