She was caught on 6lb test, a cane pole, with a lil brim hook and a cricket for bait....... 005 Ill let it stew before i mention the real story. BTW we have a ton of these down here in savannah, and the size of them is growing. 10 pounders are fairly common, 20+ arent unusual.

yeah i think our st. record is somewhere around 66 lbs. Yall have some monsters up there. This fish had actually just finished up with hatchery spawning. I got to watch and help out a lil bit with the spawning at the fish hatchery. This female i think gave 4 or 5 pounds in eggs. So she was still half asleep for this picture.

well they just about cant do anything more to our (florida's) redfish than an all out ban on keeping them. we already have some tough size limits. what was in the exec order? anyone have a link to it?

Thanks for the link Willie. I read the transcript and other than "protecting the two species" there weren't any specific goals set. I know here in NC the NCDMF has fairly stringent regulations on the reds http://www.ncfisheries.net/recreational/recguide.htm and stripers http://www.ncfisheries.net/content/strbass/stribass.htm. Perhaps this Federal legislation will make the restrictions consistant from state to state.
