Spanish were biting

The bite was steady this morning. Kept a few for dinner tonight. May go searching for the Bonita tomorrow. I heard they were thick about 15 miles out....

About three miles off the beach I was marking pockets of water up to 68.5 degrees. Comiing out of the inlet it was only 64. Still just a touch early.

I have weekend duty at the plant so I have to stick close to the area. Cells are great, but I think they would have frowned if I had gone chasing Spanish. I got one call Sat. morning, was able to handle that one over the phone. So I went out--jacked the boat up--set her on blocks--lightly sanded the bottom and put a fresh coat of bottom paint on the HELEN ANN. Set it back on the Trailer last night--I'll scrub and clean her up to day--plan on dropping her in the slip about Wed. and if nothing don't happen, I'm going to take Thur. and Friday off and Either my wife's go to give me H@#L for not finishing the bath room project. OR I'm going to try and give the Spanish H@#L, I'd perfer the latter!!! So the rest of you--Capt. Mick And BlueMoon, leave a few out there for me, Don't scare they all up 1st Sarges way yet. Hector's Probably out here now scaring the heck out em!!!!
Give us a report when you get back in. Man it to pretty just to be stuck here like this..

Thanks for the heads up Capt. Mick. If the weather stays good, the wife and I might camp somewhere from Sunset Beach to Va Beach.

How do you cook Spanish Mackerel? I was thinking about trying it ceviche.

Nice Catch. We caught about 4 small ones trolling outside the Beaufort inlet this weekend.

I grilled mine with some Louisianna seasoning. Never found the Bonita, but found a couple of undersized grey Trout at john's Creek.
