Fished the Roanoke on Monday the 30th, 4 of us caught about 130 Shad ranging in size from 1.5 to 2.5 lbs a lot of fun on light tackle and good striper bait for when they they show up. most of the fish caught was on small gold spoons and Pink darts with white bodies. Everyone was fishing on right hand side of the river from boat ramp in weldon to the big rock. :secret:*017*

We were worried about the rain from last weekend on Monday but that didnt seem to bother the fishing and the water was not all that high, I wouldnt fight the crowd there on the weekend for all the striper in that river....... well I might.

I was like 3 days late AGAIN!!!!! I'll probably be there on tuesday, or I may go downriver to jamesville and try the stripers.

Hey Bluemoon and Capn Luke. I would be happy to trade with both you. I had my boat out on that stretch of the river the last weekend in March and was skunked! Fast and deep water. Last weekend did much better in the Roanoke part that enters Smith Mnt. Lake.
