Now, that just plain STINKS. WTF didn't the CG just tow the thing in and be done with it. That was just stupid and "sounds" to me like somebody is in the pockets of the salvage company. If it were a drug boat, they would have towed it in a minute. *kickrock**kickrock**kickrock**kickrock*

Make that 20+ years ago in our area, about the same time SeaTow and BoatUS got their act together with a fleet to handle most tow jobs, salvage crews handle the rest. CG doesn't generally get involved unless loss of life is at stake... as it should be IMO.

You guys don't think what they did could open up law suits and such? That was just plan stupid leaving a boat apprentally "unsecure" at that location. There were too many "what if's" that come to mind to me. How ya recon those huggers would react if it had a fuel spill and got into their little birddie nests and all. I'm just saying, that ain't a place to leave a boat, don't matter what ya rules. Why not stay with it, secure till seatow or a salvage boat could be on seen. Just opens up way too many issues to me, as it did in fact do in this case.

Any thing could bring a law suit ....

That's the way they have been doing it for several years..

And it's to Dangerous they have to wait for conditions to be just right !
Boat us and Sea Tow ..
That I have seen down their will need reinforcements for a boat that size !

Harry Shiffman use to use a lil Shamrock mid 20 something as a tow boat !

The real shame is The man lost his boat and what ever it's worth salvage won't cover the salvage bill !
