After getting the skiff back from the mechanic, I decided to go big, or go home. Took it to my favorite spring plugging spot. Things started slow, but as the sun got higher, and the water got warm, the bite turned on. We started with a couple shorts. As the day went on the bass got a little bigger with each one. The last one of the day for me went 35". Boat ran great, and it felt awesome to have it back on the water after 6 months.

We ended the day with a buch of bass released and a nice 2 man limit.

VERY NICE!! Good pic and good job. *thumbsup* We really dont have those stripers down here, how much you reckon a 35" weighs? Might be a dumb question but how do you fish em? You said "plugging" does that mean you were casting topwater?

Probably went around 15-17lbs.
I throw swimmers in the spring. I like bright colors. My fav color in spring is gold. Yozuri mag minnows are my favorite brand. I also like X-raps. I will switch to a 9" cotton cordell thats been drilled, loaded with a little oil, and resealed. (I do that because there to darn light).
Great bay is close to the mullica river? correct? I'd go there:secret: And throw plugs. Above greenbank
Heres a pic of a couple I like. Top left is my all time spring fav.

Nice job. I'm splashing this weekend, and of course it's supposed to rain *001*. Winter flounder opens up 4/1 in CT, and probably still a bit early for bass but not long now. I will go clamming instead and then fish for flounder next weekend. Great pics

Hi George - Nice report. *O*0

No, i don't believe I have. I will though. It's a 17' 95 hull witha 40 suzuker. 2 stroke. One thing about the skiff. It always gets there and back. Sometimes a little damp, but never lets me down. I've been out about 15 miles in the ocean. Had to pull the drain plugs while running in. Waves were about 4-5 and coming over the bow. As the water came in, it drained out. just had to keep moving.*008*
i"ll post a pic tomorrow. gonna head back to the fishing grounds.
