I'm gonna have to go with PLB on this one. I don't think the gas tank on my skiff is big enough to get me somewhere CG can't reach me before the battery runs out. I know there can be some pretty nasty wind and current out there, but I really don't think I have any buisness going that far out in my boat.

PLB guy here, simply cause i go from boat to boat often. PLB is registered to you, epirb is registered to the boat.

I think most will go PLB !
Our Inlet is bad for small craft Oregon Inlet !
I's just too dangerous for a skiff !
My pop always said follow some one out and back !
Good advice for the off shore anglers in small craft !

Also another thing about the epirbs is that they will start transmiting after they go 13 feet under water. In some cases when the boat is unsinkable they will not get activated. In my case, the Grady(knock on wood) if it goes under, all it does is turns upside down, so if i have the epirb mount it on the t-top, most likely it would never activate.
