I was reading my owners manual on my 140 suzuki. Iread over and over again the proper way to lubricate the motor. Other then changing the oil, oil filter, lower unit lubricant, and grease fittings. What else do I need to lubricate? Linkages and such have got to need something??? Need this motor to last. I don't want it to die due to my inability to keep it maintained correctly. And taking it to a mechanic so they can charge me 2.5 arms and .83 of a leg to maintain it is out of the question.

i keep my linkages lubbed up with some white lithium grease or some WD40. anything to help keep the rust from starting. the grease works good when you need some lube to stay "in" the linkage ends. it should be availible at any car parts/ hardware store.

I agree, the white lithium grease will stay put, where WD-40 is great for freeing stuff up, but it dries out.....

So how can you inject white lithium up the cables???

Tom, in my motorcycling days we used this nifty little adapter that would clamp on the cable and allow lube to be injected all the way through the cable housing. See the link below. They state this product is used on boats also.

just lube up the ends, you dont have to "inject" the grease up the whole cable.
