I'm pretty sure not many of ya'll are fishing out my holes!!!! So, just interested to know what little thingy ya'll do to your baits to entice fish.

One of my key favorites is to use ceiling fan chain(prefer silver but gold has its moments w/ the reds) as a wt and eye to soft plastic jerkbaits. I usu. cut a 3-ball segment and place on eye-spots of jerkbait or further back. This allows me the xtra wt to cast or primarily alllow the bait to bump the surface or give a heads down sink of a stunned baitfish. This usu is my go to bait for trout, as I can burry the hook or fish it exposed...

When fishing live minnows I like to hook them through the eyes. They seem to stay alive alot longer that way, and it is a very secure location to hook them I seldom have to deal with cast offs etc. Plus what better way to make a minnow seem injured. Also, I like to us a smaller, barbless stinger, tied on with a slightly lighter leader to the eye of the main hook. I like the stinger to be about 1/2 to an inch behind the tail of the minnow. When I started doing that 4-5 years ago I was surprised at how many of the fish I caught were hooked on the stinger. I havn't been keeping score, but it seems like at least half of the hook ups I've had with minnows has been via the stinger.
