Decided to pull the boat yesterday for a claening and repairs.

I used that "on/ off" cleaner as recommened by you guys and WOW!!!Easy to use and great stuff. I had some rust streaks from my transom eyes. Sprayed that stuff on and it immeditly (sp) turned the rust to a yellow liquid and I just hosed it off and it was gone !!!! Same thing for the water stain above the water line. Spary it on and hosed it off, Nice and brite white again. It did however run down onto the trailer and got black bottom paint all over it. My fault though, cause it does say on the directions to cover the trailer with a tarp before applying. I admit it, I'm a guy and didn't fully read the directions.... ;D

On another note I also pulled the boat cause my washdown pump quite pumping and my Rule bilge is the new "automatic " kind that is supposed to kick on every 2 1/2 minutes but it is not.

Gotta check into this.....

Is the screen clogged on the bilge pump? Is the washdown making any noise when you turn it on?

No & No.

Let me say though, that the bilge screen has gotton clogged earlier in the season. It would still pump, just restricted. I just popped the motor off the base to get to the screen, cleaned it, and all ways good again.

Now it pumps like a bandit when flipped to Manual, but it doesn't cycle when set to auto mode.

As for the washdown pump. When I had ithe boat out fishing the time before last, it was working, with good pressure for about 2 minutes and then it just petered out and barely made a stream.

Last time I was out, the motor ran , but still no pressure.
Now since I have it home it doesn't even run when swicthed on. I will check the obvious first, fuse,,,etc. I do know when it builds a certain amount of pressure it is supposed to shut off so it doesn't keep running and burn the pump up. Even if the washdown hose is dis-connected and there is no pressure build up on the load side it isn't running. Maybe it is line locked somewhere in the plumbing.
Haven't had to check it out yet, just thinking out load.......

Harry,
When I first got my boat I had to leave it outside uncovered for about a month. When I did this it got some leaves and debris in the bilge. Of course that clogged the screen and the pump. I removed my pump and relocated the bilge from the bottom sitting flat to the side of the lower bilge. Yes I know it doesn't pump all of the water out but it gets almost all of it and the trach debris stays in the bottom. I have yet to have it get clogged up aggain. After each time I clean it up I reach down and pick out what I can. Each is to there own, my 2 cents. I now either cover my boat or park in the carport. Not much of a problem now.

I hear you man, but like I said in my post, it pumps fine when in the manual postion, but in Auto, it never kicks in.....

You mean the auto position is actually suppose to do something ??? 006

I guess I never read my Owners manual on this.

I guess it depends on the pump you have.
Mine has the Rule 500 GHP auto pump with no float and is supposed to cycle (run) every 2.5 minutes. If it detects water it will run until the boat is dry. If not it only comes on for less than 1 second and shuts off.

Like I said, Mine is not cycling in auto.
