I just purchased a Yamaha 25hp ELR 2 stroke remote for my J16. I purchased it without any controls.
I wanted to know if anyone here has installed this motor with a binnacle throttle control on a center console. I have called and talked to a guy at Yamaha and he said I could, but then when I had a dealer look into it they said with this motor I had to use one of the 2 side mounted control boxes from Yamaha. I do not know who to believe and I much rather have the binnacle control.
I really don't want to go through the hassle of buying all the stuff and find out it won't work.*004*
