OK, FINALLY got it, or as close as she is going to let me anyway...........
Mom BBQ’s Sauce
Ketchup (1 1/2 bottle 46 oz)
Chopped Onions (1/2 large onion)
Instant Coffee (somewhere between 1/4 - 1/2 c)
Smoke Flavoring (1/2 - 3/4 bottle)
Mustard (around 4 tablespoons)
Garlic (3 gloves grated or minced)
Lee & Perrins (3 - 4 tablespoons)
Brown Sugar (maybe around 1/2 cup not packed I just dump in out the bag until it looks right in porportion to the rest of the ingred.)
I just made a batch (about 1/2 gallon this time). In paranthesis above are the approximate amounts I used. My husband doesn't understand the fact that I put in ingredients to taste on this recipe and don't specifically measure anything. That is the way I was taught to make it. I don't use measuring cups or spoons when I make this. You will want to make this about 24 hours in advance. There is no cooking involved just mix and put in fridge. Taste it the next day and see if you need to adjust any.
