Hello from NYC

Hi guys, I'm a new member here and I thought i'd say hello to you all... I got a email from one of the admins here (probably because I posted a question abt CS on another site) and it looks like there is a wealth of information here.

I live in NYC and I'm looking to buy my first boat... and a new 198DLV happens to be on the top of my list... I'm hoping to get this boat for the 2008 summer season so I'm doing my research now... I plan on having it in a slip on the Western Sound (most likely City Island) and it will be used for fishing only- Blackfish (tog), Stripers/Blues, Flounder/Fluke, Porgies (Scup), and Weakfish...

Welcome aboard..................sounds like you know what you want...................its a very popular boat..............lots of uses for it and fishing is a big one...........keep us posted on the boat when you get it and ask any questions you may think of before you get it.......what kind of motor and HP are you looking at? .........Willie 010

I'm actually leaning towards the 90 e-tec but when I priced it, it was cheaper with the 90 zuke or yammy... From what I read, you can cruise in the high 20's with a 90hp so that's enough for me...
I plan on fishing with 3 people (including myself) regularly and sometimes 4...
I plan of getting the boat pretty much "stock" with the exception of maybe having a second battery installed by the dealer...
Any suggestions on dealers? I don't mind driving from NYC is the savings is decent...

I got your PM and think I answered all you question. Have a look.

Also fishing 4-5 people on the 198 DLV is tight. I did it and it wasn't pretty. Of course they were all big people. If your taking out childeren it wouldn't be as bad.
