I've been reading around the forum for a few days now, great group I'd like to add.
In introduction, I've been fortunate enough to have been around boats before I was old enough to drive, this will be my sixth boat after a 4 year break and 10 years since being near the coast. Was living up in Wyoming for a while and had sold my boat prior to moving out there. Now I've returned to the Florida Gulf Coast area and Its been a long wait to get back on the water but it has finally come.
Anyways, I pulled the trigger on a new JV17 this morning. Took her out with the wife and kids for the break in/shake down cruise. Great skiff, it has exceeded my expectations! Equiped with a 50hp Yamaha four stroke, my first four stroke, this little rig wants to get up and move... I fought the temptation however, keeping the RPM's down as the break in period suggested. Tommorow, we will be heading out again (weather permits).
I wanna give my thanks to "R.J." at Marina Mikes in Fort Myers, FL. He wasnt there today when I picked up my skiff. But he was my sales man, seemed easy going and was polite, even when I'd call him while he was fishing on his days off. Another Thanks to Kevin, the Mechanic who set the rig up for me. Again, a good experience.
Well, I'm gonna head over to the "JV" section and post my one pic I took with my cell phone.;D I"ll give a full report tommorow.
See you all around,
