This idea was in this months Bass Master.
"...you can make your own for about $30 by modifying a telescopc tree pruner (available at home and garden stores). Remove the pruner's saw head assembly and replace it with a 3/4-inch scedule 40 PVC "T" fitting. Through-bolt the "T" stem leg to the pole and use two short 3/4-inch PVC pipe nipples and caps to the close legs of the "T" and provide a tough pushing surface...."
