Bad thing working with coastal resources.......the good fishing days are the good working days :( my fishing time has been cut severely, however i told my boss when the reds and trout come in thick do not expect me to work all weekeend :) But at least i get to see alot of fish and people go fishing......nope that just makes it worse, lol.

Loki- I'll be over in Crystal River all weekend. i plan on mixing in some fishing (early) saturday so I can be back to the condo by noon to watch the Gator football game, then head back out sat evening in the skiff for some redfish. Sunday and Mondy I will most likely be fishing off my parents boat offshore. I plan on fishing early mornings and evenings all weekend to beat the heat.

chum and I have a trip planned for tomorrow, and then I have a 10 HR overnight charter for sunday. Really hope to have a good report for ya and a box 'o fish!

Last night my neighbor and I and his dad got into the blues off the bridge in Longport, NJ. First time bridge fishing. No pictures, but had a ball, between us we caught about 20 or so 2-3 lbders. 010 010

I won the tournament I was in today 011

Was dubbed "The King of Lakes Bay 2007" by a City councilman.
Out of 80 angelrs, I had the biggest fish. A 3 1/2 pound weakfish.
Wife won the womens division with a 2.2 pound weakie......
We also had 2 keeper flounder.

It was the biggest of ANY kind of fish, trash fish even counted....

Well, Trim-Tab and I took my sister and brother-in-law out on Saturday for a little bottom fishing. Luckily, there was a big King Mackeral/Wahoo tourney going on, so everyone was busy with that and most of the bottom spots were fairly vacant......unfortunately, keeper fish were just about as scarce. I started off with a nice 10 lb bonita, which we ended up adding to the cut-bait supply. I put out a pinfish on a king mackeral stinger rig and got a nice strike with the fish fighting to get to the wreck below, I was sure it was an amberjack but when I finally worked it to the surface it was about a 42" redfish that had ventured offshore.....released him before thinking of taking a picture. We got into a bunch of spanish mackeral, vermillion snapper and short (just barely) red snapper. My brother-in-law had a hard time having to toss back a bunch of red snapper that were all 1/2 to 1" to short....another month and they will be legal (about the same time season closes, lol).

We had a good day, although very, very hot. We caught a ton of fish, the only problem is that it was about 1 lb at the time with very few noteworthy fish other than the ones mentioned above. Maybe next time......

The boys and I gathered up about 2 gallons of scallops just south of Crystal River today ( thanks to Slim for the directions). Got home cleaned them and will fix them on Wed. night when I get home.

Got up this morning before breakfast to get a jump on the masses at the ramp.
What did I find blocking my driveway, a broken down Chevy. ;D I go up to check it
out and there was this Lady (questionable) asleep in the cab. I wake her up and
find out what the problem is. After a few phone calls to some friends of hers I take
her up to a local truck stop to meet them. (driveway still blocked and the sun is rising fast). I finally get loaded up and off we go, through the neighbors yard to use his driveway. To my suprise the ramp was not crowded.I picked up a half doz peelers from a crabber working the area, figured it would be better than squid or shrimp.
As we come around the Norfolk Navy base there is a parking lot of boats drift fishing.
First line in, nice croker. Then another. I knew I was going to make my aunt happy
with a cooler full of crokers, NOT. The bite stopped. Headed out to the Hampton
Roads Bridge Tunnel in search of Flaties. First pass over the tube, hooked up.
it was a shortie. then another and another. all too short. Thanks Va. for the 18 1/2"
limit on flaties. We moved around a little to the Monitor Merrimac Bridge Tunnel
and started catching rocks. Out of season, they all went back.
Needless to say I had a good day of catchin', just not much keepin'

Familyman- glad I could help! The scallops were kinda scarce yesterday. We stopped at 4 places and actually got all our scallops at 2 of those 4. the other 2 were complete busts! There's one more weekend left in the season! I'm gonna go back out this saturday and finish off the season right, with another batch for fresh dinner!
