Hello,
I'll start by confessing I do not have a Carolina Skiff, But I do have a 18ft skiff.
Its a 86 Steiger Craft that was 1st built as a commercial clamming skiff. I picked it up last Feb. and it has been a work in progress ever since. I've already picked up a few ideas from looking around the site and hope to gain a few more and hopefully even give a few.
Here is what I am working with/on.

Started off as a bare bones hull. 1st thing is added a 2008 90hp Etec, then t-top, leaning post, added a 28 gallon fuel tank in front of the console, trim tabs, 50gallon live well and the list goes on....

Nice boat!!!*yay**yay* Always loved those steigers!!! (I'm from long island).
One picture show your boat moored... In a Pond? Which one? Good firiend lives near Westerly. Has his whaler in the first pond I think!

THanks Gary and Charlie
Its actually moored in a cove in Newport RI (were I live) that is right on the ocean. I am real lucky for the local, as all of my inshore fishing spots are within a 1 mile.
Here is a pic that some what shows the area.

Its a tuff area on a big swell, (SSE is the worst) and the channel some times closes out but I wouldn't rather be any were else...

I believe I have been by that cove, The house on the point is familiar. Is that near the beach club in Newport?
Those Steigers have a good rep with the commercial folks, rescue and law enforcement. Must be a tough boat.
You will like it here.;D
