My name is Ray and I live near N.O. but have a fishing camp in Buras, near Venice. I have a 1996 j14 with a 2005 25 yamaha tiller that I use to fish for reds and specks mostly. That boat is one of the luckiest fish catching boats I have fished from as I always do well when I fish out of it. It along the 1992 yamaha that was on it was completely totaled during hurricane Katrina because it was in the boat shed in Plaquimines parish 15 miles north of the eye of the storm *001*. I found it, restored it, and put the new motor on it and have since bought and sold a 20' twin vee but have realized that the perfect boat for me is the 1980 or 2180 DLX. So thats how I ended up here and it looks like an excellent site! If yall know of one for sale let me know.

Welcome Ray.....Send me some pics of the tiller mount if you have them i have the same boat and am thinking of putting an old Jhonson on it rather that a transom trolling motor to do the same thing you said , trout and reds.......Hope she will get as lucky as you said yours was!!

Jaycf7, I will try to take some pics tomorrow of the boat. Do you basically want pics of the mounted motor? I need to clean it up anyway as I will more than likely part with it so that I have more money to put towards my 198 or 218.

Welcome, my dad lives in Houma and I have fished with him there a couple of time. I always thought a skiff would be perfect in those Louisana marshes and back lakes. Good luck finding a boat!
