humminbird 363c gps/fishfinder

I am looking at the above mentioned combo unit to put on my j14. I live and fish in south ms, mainly grass flats and the back bay. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this unit. Any feedback would be appreciated!!

redkilla, I've got the 787c2, which is different than your's, primarily as follows:

My 787c2 is color, has a one inch larger screen, and the power output is greater to allow reading at greater depths (but I don't really need any more than the 363 provides). Both use the same DualBeam Plus transducer and technology and the same mapping, They function the same and mine retails for 550 bucks more than yours, primarily to get the color and an extra inch of display screen.

I really like the unit I have, and was thinking of buying a second one for redundancy. I fish (as often as I can) offshore and I'm currently having a problem with my unit reading bottom - not to worry - I'm sure it is because I dropped it too many times on a hard surface - hopefully, you won't be doing that. The good news is that Humminbird offers a flat rate fee to repair their units after the warranty ends. I highly recommend Humminbird Fish finders. The GPS works very well, but the stock mapping 'bird provides is not the best, but it is certainly adequate for all but the most particular users. IMO, Humminbird plotters/FF's are the easiest (read: most intuitive) to use and there FF's provide the best images of any I've seen in their price class.
