the email was wrong, that is an african tigerfish! i didn't think that looked like a piranha

I guess you can't lip that kind fo fish :o. It's a goliath tiger fish. The other strain of tiger fish has stripes on their sides.

It looks like a striper with a mean set of chompers.

I found this type of Alligator Gar that also lives in the Congo. It will eat that goliath tiger fish for breakfast ;D.

that second pic was also in the email. those are some mean sobs! my grandpa went to africa twice a year when i was younger for missionary work (building schools, hospitals, and churches with his construction company) and he would spend a week or so fishing the area lakes/ rivers near him. he once took a 32' Cabin boat over to Lake Victoria to serve as a hospital ship for the local villages. i've seen pics of perch that stretch all the way across the transom of the boat. he enjoyed fishing for the fun of it, but one of these monster perch would feed a village for a week or so.
