I'm in the process of adding a bow mounted trolling motor to my skiff and have seen the rubber isolators that are designed to use where you can't get a nut on the mounting bolt. has anyone used these ? any pit falls ? any tricks you learned the hard way?..similar items are available from Minn Kota and Motor Guide is one better than the other? this is my first boat and hesitant to start drilling holes in it. any help or recommendations wil be appreciated. thanks

I used those adapters on my Lowe boat for the old Minn Kota Power Drive I had on it. I never had any issues. Saltwater is harsh compared to freshwater too! I'd try to mount it without using those adapters.

Yep, what he said. Get on up under there (you or a very small person) put one some washers, lock nuts and forget it. *thumbsup*
