Couple things:

1. I am getting ready to mount a VHF flushmount in my console just above my throttle. I have a bimini top and was wondering where to put the antenna? Must be able to get the cable to it and out of the way. I have never had any luck out of a whip antenna and was probably going to go with a fiberglass. I have Lowrance Electronics with the new NEMA 2000 buss that allows you to connect all of your electronics together. Haven't really investigated to see what type and model of VHF would connect with this system. IDEAS ??? 006

2. I have looked for a Suzuki trim guage for my motor but can't seem to locate one. IDEAS ???

3. Has anyone installed a freshwater shower on there boat??

4. Last but not least. We were out on a flat just in side of the passs this weekend and I was in the boat when my 5 year old started crying behind the boat. The whole family was in the general vicinity behind the boat but I was the closest. When I asked what was the matter he said that thing stung him. When he pointed to the transducer I didn't register in my head how much power those things kick out. It didn't hurt him but I believe he won't do that again. Lesson learned here turn your FF off when the kids are playing in the water around the back of the boat. :'(

The only thing I can help you with is the trim gauge and you may not like the answer. Don't waste your money. Depending on conditions and weight distribution you will never trim to the same spot on the gauge. The only way to trim out is by feel. It you do put one on the boat I would be willing to bet you won't look at it after the first few trips. Sorry to be negative but it is my opinion.......good luck.

Wow.... I had no idea about the transducer. I will keep my 5 year olds away from it as well. Are you sure the housing is not cracked on it or something? It just seams like it should not do that. I thought it was emiting sound waves not electricity.........? 006

Hi guys -

The transducer only emits sound. It makes a clicking noise. I have held one up to my ear to check it and there is no shock just noise. Maybe there is a short somewhere.
