View Full Version : Deluxe console draining issue

We have the deluxe console on our DLV Elite. There is not a tank under the console so we have an actual door on the front. If you have seen the deluxe console, it has rod holders on the side. Well the problem we have is rain water going into the rod holder and the water is holding up in the console since it is sealed to the deck. The only solution I see it buying rubber stoppers to fill the holes while not in use. To prevent the water from pooling up under the console and not being able to drain.

Any other suggestions?

It should drain out.

Hey guys,

I just went out and looked at my Elite. It drains at the bottom below where the door is. They did not silicone the area completely across on mine. It looks like it was done on purpose too. *006* I did stick a zippy tie in the space to make sure it was open and water would drain from there. I have been out in the rain with it and I have not had a drainage issue. I would like to see the rear floor drains integrated into the floor like my Ranger was though. Mounting them below the seats seems like a second choice area to me. IMHO.

You can also install a drain tube under each rod holder and route everything with some plastic t's to a main 1/4" I.D hose and out of the console.

They are open on the bottom with a small tube going across to hold the rod at the end. You would have to remove each one and modify it. You would think CS would have put a little more money back into that design. *kickrock*

Thanks Brian. I had a sus[icion that it should not be sealed there. You can see the groove around the large belly panel. You would assume this would be a drainage area. The problem now is that there is so much sealant gooped in there it will take awhile to remove it.

I am wondering if I should take it back to the dealer and tell them about it.

The second option would be to buy those rubber stoppers and put into the holes when not in use and also when I wash it down. The stoppers look like these.

You could.....I'd just take a small putty knife or a spare hacksaw blade and remove any excess.
