Redfish

We've been on a roll lately, but yesterday broke our streak. Weather was not very cooperative, nor were the fish. It was gray and windy with a stiff NNE blowing all day. On top of that, the morning was very misty, which kept everything damp until nearly noon. There was a lot of bait in the water--little glass minnows--almost everywhere. Perhaps the fish had eaten their fill because they were not hungry for what we were offering. We caught a number of short reds and several short trout, but no keepers. The wind made it hard to fish comfortably or to keep the boat anchored on the outside, so we spent most of the day in the creeks. The only noteworthy part of the day was another big black drum for my son. He caught one several weeks back, and this one may have been a bit larger. Again, these are not good eating fish, but they make a nice memory and picture for a youngster.
