Hello Folks,
A question for you yammy folks out there, who got the Digital Tachometer with the motor, who added it on later, and who doesn't have it now?
The reason I ask is I have no gauges for low oil pressure or overheat, no "buzzer", "horn" or anything else to tell me I have a problem. I can see how this gauge would be a usefull tool, it has on it Tach, trim , hour as well.
This gauge was found in the yammy book, while I was looking for the "warning" lights/buzzer, which wasn't found anywhere in the boat. Apperently it just "plugs in".
Neat concept, wish that one would have been included with the motor................

Reggie,
I have analog gauges on my boat right now. Yamaha has digital gauges and command link gauges. The command link gauges are the ones you plug-in. You can find out more about the command link gauges on the Yamaha website http://www.yamaha-motor.com/outboard/commandLink/page01.aspx. With the command link gauges, you one cable from the motor to a hub you put under your console. The hub connects to each gauge with pig tails. The dealer I talked to about the gauges acutally emailed me the Installation guide before buying them. PM me your email address and I'll send them to you. He also said the kit comes with a how-to installation DVD. I looked into getting the command link gauges when I purchased my boat, but it cost way too much to have the dealer install them. I'm planning to buy the SQUARE TACHOMETER and the SQUARE COMBINATION SPEEDOMETER AND FUEL MANAGEMENT GAUGE this winter. It will give me something to do during the off season. I hope this helps.

I have the all in one digital on my J16. I bought it on ebay new in the box. I took it to my local Yamaha service guy for install. He plugged it in to the standard control harness and everything worked except the digital trim part. Trim gauges are useless so I did not spend the money for the extra harness.

The alarm/buzzer has gone off a couple time telling me the 2-cycle oil was low when it really was not. Other than that it is has been awesome.
