My name is Kevin, I live in Jacksonville FL and I'm 53 years old. I've been around boating all my life and am returning to the simpler things in boating.

I started out with a 12' canoe then got a used 14' tri-hull with a 55 Chrysler. From that point I moved up to a 15' Dixie runabout, then a 15' Skeeter bass boat, a 17' Nitro bass boat and the last boat I owned for the last 12 years was an Allison XB-2003 bass boat. I'm the former creator and owner of AllisonOwners.com (http://allisonowners.com/) and message board that I created in 1998 and turned over to my friend Lou this June 2008 since I no longer own an Allison anymore.

I just purchased a 12' Otter canoe (http://www.indianrivercanoemfg.com/specs.htm) from Indian River Canoe's and put a 3.5 hp 4 stroke motor on it.

I'm now in the hunt for a simple skiff for larger waters and that brought me to this site.

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS

Hi Kevin
I'm also in Jacksonville and just bought a J16. I've been thinking about a boat for this area for about a year and decided that for the ICW, St Johns River and the jettys, the CS will fill my needs. Note: just saw what looks like a nice j16 at a resaonable price in the Dock Sale section.
If you decide on a CS, you can't go wrong using this site.

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I've already learned a great deal from just looking around with some of the mods being done. I like the way you can really customize the boats for your needs.

Ron, I agree, I'm looking at J16 real hard.

Harry, I found the site from the CS home page under Community/Feedback & Reviews section.

kevin- you will not be disappointed in a J16! i owned one for about 4 years and logged many many hours fishing off her. never had any regrets about buying it! i only sold her to go up to a bigger boat that would fish 4 people.
