Just got a Cannon Uni troll 10 down rigger, 12lbs weight, and some clips today. Any idea on were or were not to mount it on the 198 Elite. I was planning to use this one and add another if I like it. I was thinking rear corner but maybe on the side gunnel as far forward as the leaning post. If I mount it on the side that 53" boom if used weightless could double as a mini out rigger. Also I plan to through bolt it when I mount it and use a backer plate w/ss hardware to strengthen the mounting area. Any ideas, pics would be great.

Any advice on using this thing? I have done some research but this is new to me *clonk* . I want it for Stripper on Lanier, Pike, Walleye, and some other cold water fish in the Mountain lakes, and what ever will hit it off the coast of Ga. and Fla. pan handle.

Thanks in advance.
Jon

This is what I did to mine.I got the guy who made My t-top to make some downrigger pads for the side.I have the Cannon easy troll.I troll it out to the side @45*.I use the double clips and rubber bans. You don't have to bring up the ball every time this way. Just clip on another and send it down.

I saw your pics and that sure is a nice set up you have. I wish Snow Hill Nc wasn't so far away. I want to have a custom T-top built and it looks like your guy does nice work. I saw an Everglades with a ski hitch up top and it has had me thinking ever since. Those t-tops seem to have endless uses. If only the money was as endless.
