I took the wife and kids for a cruise on the Delaware River on Sunday. Its weird to be boating in the ghetto. ;D Went up under the Walt Whitman and Ben Franklin bridges. Did a u turn at the Betsy Ross and came back.

I did snap a cellphone shot ofthe Battleship New Jersey:

I also found an interesting thing - the Barnegat Light Ship. Its laying in a shallow water slip in Camden. It was supposed to be restored at some point (like the Chesapeake Lightship in Baltimore) but apparently it is just wasting away. It was built in 1904 and is a shame to see it in this kind of condition. Another bad cell pic:

That must have been an interesting trip for you and the family. Would never think of it. Where did you put in?

I put in in Brooklawn on Big Timber Creek. Hargrove Marina. It has a great ramp.

I launched a Sea kayak in the Gloucester City area and went on over to PA. When the Tug boat went by and was pushing this HUGH wake I thought I was gonna die. The I came back and paddled up Big Timber Creek. I always thought it would be interesting to go around Manhatten Island.

I paddled hard and solid straight into the tugs wake. Looked huge. Rode it out and then paddled back to NJ. I didn't realize how scared i was until I noticed my lower jaw was quivering like when your really cold. And it wern't cold at all. I have been threatened with a shotgun and a knife and had my cab shot full of holes from 10 feet and it was not anywhere near the same pucker factor. Well the wave that broke over the bow of my 26' wellcraft in 1984 was up there, my friends knees were knockin' (for real) after that one. ;D
